Combating the dark side of Fintech

Blockchain-based investigations can visualize criminal activity in an unprecedentedly efficient way. Combining on- and off-chain transactions with novel cooperation methods and the upcoming new MICA regulation opens up unique opportunities to enhance cooperation within the ecosystem - but only if executed correctly. The track will include a fireside chat about solving the existing gaps in the sanctions imposed on Russia, and a panel discussing the current state, advantages and challenges of Blockchain analytics software.

The track is being led by Michal Gromek, who co-chairs the Digital Asset Task Force of the Global Coalition to Fight Financial Crime. These expert groups include Europol, Refinitv, and the World Economic Forum members. Prior to this, he initiated and coordinated the Working Group on Digital Assets & Blockchain from the Swedish Fintech Association. He has been a program director within Executive Education of Stockholm Fintech Week; beyond this, he has been a Chief Compliance Officer of a publicly traded Fintech, a Forbes contributor on the topics of Fintech and decentralized finance for the past half a decade.
