Love Dager takes on the CEO role at Sthlm Fintech Week to further drive Sweden’s most insightful fintech gathering

Sthlm Fintech Week was started in 2018 as a community driven meeting spot for the people interested and engaged in the Swedish Fintech ecosystem for the purpose of networking and knowledge sharing. One of the founders, Love Dager, is stepping up to a CEO role to further establish Stockholm as the major meeting point for the Fintech community. With that, the team has announced the theme in 2023 will be “Through the Global lens of Fintech” and aim to bring the world to Sweden.

Love Dager steps up to become a CEO at Sthlm Fintech Week while continuing to run his company Outside Minds – an event agency through which he was part of organising Slush Shanghai, Hack for Sweden, BLOXPO, Hack for Earth to name a few. He previously collaborated and worked with organisations such as Microsoft Reactor, Ung Företagsamhet, Norrsken and Oh My. In 2018, he co-founded Sthlm Fintech Week together with Anna Blyablina and Lana Brandorne. This has always been a passion project for the team. However after the 4th successful edition the team decided it is time to take the event to the next level and for someone to dedicate their full attention to it.

Sweden and Nordics in general are global leaders in many areas, and payments and fintech is one of them. Many fintech unicorns are born here – iZettle by Paypal, Klarna, Bambora, Trustly, Mitigram namly. Sthlm Fintech Week can have a much more prominent place in the global fintech event scene and the team sees that there is an opportunity to welcome more international guests to Sweden. Based on the country’s success in building innovative financial technologies and exporting them globally, international guests would be able to learn a great deal of insights. Ultimately, it is all about fostering a stronger relationship between different actors in the ecosystem and building a stronger fintech community that can use Sthlm Fintech Week as the forum in which to convene and share.

“There are over 500 fintech companies in Stockholm, and Sthlm Fintech Week has so far served as the platform connecting the Swedish fintech community to collaborate more closely and share relevant insights. While each year we have welcomed our neighbours to join, following year we are additionally looking forward to having more international experts sharing their insights from beyond the region. We hope for many international attendees to come and see the impressive fintech ecosystem that we have here in Sweden. In the capacity as the new CEO I’m looking to build a strong team, a brand and above all an unforgettable experience for everyone engaging in the conference”, says Love Dager, CEO & Co-Founder.

As Love Dager will step up as the CEO, Lana Brandorne and Anna Blyblina will continue as board members and will still be involved in the content of the conference – Anna taking the lead role on the PayTech and Lana on Open Finance & Lending tracks.

“The team is committed to empowering Love to succeed in the new organizational structure and see Sthlm Fintech Week grow in the future. We believe that engaging the community will continue to be a key in ensuring the best possible experience. We want to continue seeing innovation, insightful knowledge sharing and fruitful networking among the participants. Personally, I look forward to shaping the future of Sthlm Fintech Week in the board capacity. We have an exciting journey ahead”, says Anna Blablyna, Co-Founder Sthlm Fintech Week.

The team is planning to grow the conference to new heights under the leadership of Love. Stockholm belongs to the fintech leader cities globally, and SFW’s vision is to serve as the platform for it. The format of the conference will be dynamic, but the key factor and guiding star is to never lose the community-driven approach. Thus, the team invites individuals and companies to co-create the content and experience of the week, organizing their own initiatives around the conference in the larger vision to make Stockholm one of the most vibrant fintech cities in the world.
