Erik Gutwasser is responsible for Mastercard in the Nordics and Baltics where he continues to drive and develop the innovative payment landscape in close cooperation with Mastercard’s partners.

Prior to his current role, he was head of Sweden and Finland, where he strengthened Mastercard ́s

local presence by expanding Mastercard ́s local team and by working closely with the local partners. He has also been Mastercard ́s Nordic & Baltic Sales Lead and initially joined Mastercard as Head of Mastercard Advisors where he successfully built and scaled the Advisors business in the Nordics & Baltics.

Erik has a background from the management consultant firm Booz & Company (prev. Booz Allen) where he worked closely with his clients to drive innovation and improve customer offering and was responsible for the biggest account in the Nordics. He holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management from Linköping Institute of Technology and University of Technology Sydney.

Erik grew up in Sweden but has been working across the Nordics and Baltics as well as in several places in Europe and US. He lives in Stockholm and loves skiing and boating.
