Access to UBO registers is ruled a violation of GDPR – how will this affect the process of KYC obligations?

The Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) recently deemed the current framework for public access to unique beneficial owner (UBO) information a “serious violation of privacy and data protection”. Austria and The Netherlands have already closed specific parts of their registers in order to meet the requirements of the EU ruling.
