Mikael is fuelling the next generation Nordic unicorns in his role heading up the Nordics for Crowdcube, the leading international community fundraising platform. Having funded 1,800 campaigns for over €1.8Bn, since establishing in Stockholm, Mikael has launched successful campaigns with brands like Nothing, Steven, Stilride and Greenely. Before moving to Sweden, he spent six years building the largest Swedish business community in the world, outside Sweden, as Ass Director at the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the UK. Assisting companies expanding to the UK, he was part of building go to market strategy for the likes of Klarna, iZettle and Trustly. Having represented over 400 Swedish businesses in this role, he was credited with contributions as an Advisor for Sweden’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs and singled out to consult the Swedish government following the 2016 Brexit Referendum. Later he founded his own consultancy, Angelake, specialising in Anglo-Nordic trade in the retail space. Mikael holds a Master’s in Marketing Management from Middlesex University in London and a Bachelor’s from Saint Leo University in Florida. Having spent six years in the United States as a former professional athlete Mikael was inducted into the SLU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2021.
